The Journey to Powidz

1996, and next we set off towards Powidz with one remaining coal wagon.

The next stop is at the military base just outside Powidz.

There is no loop here, just a siding down into the base, so all shunting is done using a wire rope.

When the coal wagon has been shunted in front of the loco it is propelled down into the base.

The train is then propelled until the next station at Powidz.

As can be seen, there is not much clearance, let alone visability!

Powidz Station is the limit of current operations, although the railway carries on past the station to join the rest of the 750mm system

Once at Powidz, a train of empty standard gauge wagons are picked up for the return journey to Gniezno
