An end to the WHR proper, and onto the former Croesor Tramway

Croesor Tramway

Pont Croesor

The Croesor sections only bridge, is shared with a local road.

As can be seen the road part of the bridge was re-built in 1995, sadly loosing much of its character.

Pont Croesor to Pen-y-Mount

This section is now being rebuilt as part of the WHR's Pont Croesor Extension, see www.pontcroesor.co.uk

Much of this section was built on to Cressey's 1800 embankment, build before the Cob to enclose land from the tidal flood water.

Note the VERY sandy soil where the embankment has been eroded. Remember, much of this was under the sea 200 years ago.
